Four flights of locks

Our boat has been back in the water for about 10 days now and looked smashing until we did four flights of locks!!!!

We got VERY wet the day we went down Atherstone flight of 11 locks. I can’t step over the bottom lock gates like John can, so he did them all. We got pretty cold that day, so we got our winter woollies out from under the bed. I’ve felt pretty cosy today with my long-johns, winter coat & thick gloves on.

Autumn is really on it’s way with lots of lovely colours. I didn’t catch today’s sun rise on camera (because I was looking at it from my cosy bed).

Until this week we’ve enjoyed lovely weather, then the rain came. There has been an incredible amount of rain falling and we’ve seen the River Anker and the River Trent in the midlands burst their banks. These two rivers are usually suitable to paddle in and look very pretty running through towns.
