We have been blessed with
lovely warm weather during the lock down.
I have done my first batch of
dying for when we’re actually able to cruise and open our new
Jubilee Fibres business. Heather is looking after the rest of the
wool as we don’t have room for it when the children stay.
In addition I’ve finished
knitting a hand-spun rainbow shawl.
The children all have a pair
of hand-spun boat slipper socks now.
I have plied some yarn, half
of which my friend Yvonne gave me for my birthday a few years ago.
John bottled 21 litres of boat
made wine.
The swans are still on their
nest and we are continually entertained by Mr Swan chasing the geese
away.
We had an 8 way Zoom quiz with
the whole family & friends this week. The next quiz night is all
booked up. In addition we did a silly Messenger session with Heather,
Edmund & Ada where we all edited ourselves to have silly
features.
We had our first boarding
school session last week so Heather & Jason could go to work.
The grandchildren’s school is open for key workers children, but
the hours don’t cover Heather’s & Jason’s shifts.
The school have supplied lots
of work for the kids to do.
We’ve had great fun
exploring the wilderness & fields at the far side of the marina
on the kids first day. We only had 4 minor casualties!!! I got my
foot stick in a ditch & John had to pull me out, Nikita got a
scratch from the dried reeds, Magnus grabbed some stinging nettles
and Lance fell up the steps & made his nose bleed………..their
parents really don’t need to worry about them when they’re
here!!!!!
3 ‘things’ playing Lego.
Our apprentice boat mechanic.
Luckily the boats either side
of us are empty. So we have the jetty all to ourselves.
Jetty BBQ.
Jetty dominoes.
Jetty
PE with Joe Wicks on YouTube.
Chocolate chip cookies by
